The popularity of restaurants like Viet:Nom is a big nod to the hood’s evolving cosmopolitan dining culture. Text By Rashima Nagpal; Photographs by Atif Amin

It must be the umami packed in the khao sueys and the makis and pomelos that has us ditching our lachcha parathas and dal bukhara more often than not these days. Whether or not these Pan-Asian restaurants retain the authenticity of the cuisines they boast of, is another question. But there’s a reason that venues like Viet:Nom have their tables filling fast almost every evening.

Viet:Nom is one of the most recent contenders to have entered the league of Asian restaurants in the national capital region. It is also a new entree in Cyberhub’s thriving F&B market. Dressed to impress, it features beautiful design elements–shades of green dominating the decor, tasteful selection of cutlery and an overall appealing aesthetic.

It presents its dishes just as pretty. From fresh summer rolls and a zesty pomelo and papaya salad to five spice tofu rolls and a unique plate of white rose dumplings made with tapioca flour, Viet:Nom’s ‘Gram game is quite strong. Unlike its counterparts, it doesn’t compromise on its mocktails; we had exotic looking ‘greppie in a glass’ and ‘dong thap’ for our table, and both have our vote. The flavours pack a punch, too. Their pho is as no-nonsense as it should be, and the mango curry is comforting, to say the least.
