As countries have gradually started to recommence international flight operations, Turkey has announced that it will resume flights to and from India starting August 1. By Kumar Shree

After keeping international flights suspended for more than two months, Turkey finally resumed operations on July 11 when Turkish Airlines partially kickstarted with a few flights on select routes. It has also made announcements regarding resuming flights to four major destinations in the world. These are India, Russia, Kuwait, and South Africa. Flights to and from India will start operations from August 1.

Adil Karaismailoglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey, in his address to the media informed that the government was planning to start operations for other countries such as Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq and Uzbekistan. But they decided to begin with four major countries as of now. Additionally, Turkey is looking to boost the number of international flights to 40 countries soon.

Recently, Turkey has been in the news because of the recent developments at the 1,500-year-old Hagia Sophia, which is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the country. Hagia Sophia has a rather intriguing history. The establishment of supreme attraction used to be a church, which was later turned into a museum.
