UAE’s stringent measures have ensured that the number of COVID-19 cases in the country remains at its lowest. And, it seems like their efforts are finally paying off as they are now gearing up to reopen their borders again. And on that note, the UAE administration is prepping to enhance their efforts to contain the spread of the virus (from incoming passengers).

Abu Dhabi will amp up its active tracing and testing infrastructure to make sure they remain on top of their game against the pandemic. The administration is also promoting many humanitarian efforts to support the social stability factor.

Since the beginning of the worldwide lockdown in March 2020, UAE (and Abu Dhabi) had put a strict ban on international and domestic travel. All activities involving any form of gatherings were banned too. The government allowed selected activities to resume from September 2020 onwards albeit with strict social distancing measures and mandatory mask-wearing rules in place.

The UAE recently registered a COVID-19 vaccine backed by China that has an efficiency rate of 86 per cent.
