For this episode of #TnlTasteOfTheWorld, Chef Ahmed brings another Arabic classic to the table and teaches us how to make a variation of the traditional Talbina. 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup barley
  • 1/4 cup buckwheat
  • 1 glass low-fat almond milk
  • 3 dates
  • 2 figs
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons mixed nuts
  • 1 tablespoon mixed seeds
  • 1 teaspoon linseed powder
  • Fruits of your choice

Preparation

  • Soak and boil the barley.

Recipe

  • In a bowl of milk, add the boiled barley and buckwheat. Mix well.
  • Add chia seeds and chopped dates and cook on low flame for five minutes.
  • Next, add chopped mixed nuts, linseed powder, mixed seeds, and chopped fruits as a garnish.
