In a first, Silversea Cruise’s Silver Whisper Cruise Ship has started its 140-day journey to all the seven continents. The expedition that started from Florida on January 6 will end in Amsterdam on May 25. During this, it will stop at 62 ports in over 32 countries. By Tanvi Jain 

Silversea Cruises Silver Whisper Cruise Ship has embarked upon its 140-day voyage, with an aim to touch all the seven continents. This first ever world cruise is being termed as the ‘Legends of Cruising’. The journey began on January 6, from Fort LauderdaleFlorida, and is scheduled to end in Amsterdam on May 25. During the journey the ship will stop at 62 ports in over 32 countries.   

With per person cost starting from approximately INR 44 lakh, and going up to as high as approximately INR 1.7 crore, the cruise is said to belong to the one per cent of the one per cent. 

The ship has a capacity of 388 passengers, and enroute this great voyage plans to introduce cocktail programmes with personalised drinks at every stop. The drinks will include regional specialties and local ingredients. Cocktail masterclasses will also be offered onboard, where guests will be taught how to recreate their favourite drinks.   

Amongst the 33 offshore experiences that the cruise plans to provide its passengers, there is a folkloric ballet performance in Brazil, a candlelight al fresco dinner in the Red Sea desert and a tour of the Royal Yacht Brittania in Scotland 

Apart from this, the expedition also includes three days in Antarctica, for guests to spot penguins and seals or explore icebergs. San Juan, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Chile, Australia, Singapore and Mumbai are few of the stops, the cruise plans to undertake. 

After this, Silversea plans to introduce two more world cruises next year. The Finest World Tour 2021 will go on for 150 days and will cover 34 countries in six continents. Another one is The Uncharted World Tour 2021that will last 167 days and include 107 different destinations in 30 countries across six continents.
