As India enters phase 2++ of the Vande Bharat Mission, we bring to you all the required information about the list and schedule of repatriation flights flying to and from India. By Kumar Shree

India announced its first lockdown on March 25 to contain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. While it has now entered its first phase of Unlock, allowing domestic flights to operate, things were different during the entire lockdown period. All flights, both international as well as domestic, were banned during the lockdown, thus leaving hundreds and thousands of Indians stranded in foreign countries. While many people were stuck in different cities away from their homes, many international travellers were also stranded in India.

The Indian Government’s Vande Bharat Mission came as a ray of hope for these individuals. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of External Affairs started flying stranded citizens abroad and bringing its people back to India through repatriation flights operated by Air India.

The mission which is still ongoing provides passengers boarding these air crafts with all the necessary protective equipment like face shields, masks, and gloves. Those occupying the middle seats are also given a protective wrap-around gown.
