  1. Tell us a little bit about HOME COURT.

HOME COURT is my first ever book, and to collaborate with a stalwart name like the NBA (National Basketball Association) is truly an honour. The book brings to light the unique basketball communities we have in India and the passion of basketball enthusiasts, players, coaches, teams and individuals from places like New Delhi, Dharamshala, Mumbai, Gangyap (Sikkim) and Periyakulam (Tamil Nadu). Through this book, I have tried capturing their hidden stories.

  1. What inspired you to take up this project?

I have always been a sports fan and have been following basketball for a while. I love working documentary style as well, so putting it all together was a no brainer for me.

  1. You travelled to multiple cities for this project. Which city resonated the most with you?

Sikkim as a state was my favourite. It’s absolutely stunning, the people are wonderful, and I understand Nepali, so that also helped.

  1. Any plans on taking this project beyond Indian borders, and covering international basketball communities as well? If so, where would you like to begin?

Its been a great collaboration with the league and because I love creating a powerful visual story, I would be glad to take this up in any country! This has been an eye-opening experience and very inspiring for me as a photographer.

  1. Cities or smaller towns – your preferred setting for a shoot?

Both. The book is a blend of cities and small towns which give a wonderful mix. It even helps gain a good understanding of modern India.
