Three premier hotels in Aerocity, near Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) —  two Lemon Tree Hotels — Lemon Tree Premier and Red Fox and French multinational hospitality chain Accor’s Ibis hotel, have been directed by the Delhi Government to provide pay and use quarantine facilities. Apart from the government quarantine facilities, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also asked these hotels to arrange 182 rooms for quarantine at a fixed price.

The facility which has already started, has been fixed at a per day rate of up to INR 3,100 plus taxes. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, two bottles of mineral water every day, tea, coffee, Wi-Fi and TV. While  IBIS has arranged for 92 rooms, The Lemon Tree Premier has offered 54 rooms and the Red Fox has given 36 rooms, as per reports.

Moreover, the hotels have also been asked to make sure the laundry of quarantined guests doesn’t get mixed with that of others. The orders further state that the meals to these guests should be served in their rooms itself and that too only in disposable plates/containers. The used plates/containers shall then be disposed off as bio medical waste. It is the duty of the security personnel to ensure the movement of the guests is restricted only to confined areas, and is monitored via CCTV cameras.

The said orders have been issued under the Delhi Epidemic Diseases, COVID – 19 Regulations, 2020

The capital reportedly has a capacity of more than 1,400 beds to quarantine people in different facilities run by the Central and Delhi governments, including hospitals, unused flats of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board, police training schools, and under-construction hospitals.
