Held each November at the time of Kartik Purnima or full moon, Pushkar Camel Fair is a spectacle on an epic scale, attracting thousands of cattle like camels and horses, and over 400,000 people over a period of 14 days.

Whether you’re a photographer, writer, musician or travel enthusiast, putting Pushkar on your itinerary will bring you myriad experiences that are exclusive to this city – offbeat, quirky and colourful – trademark of a place in Rajasthan.

Pushkar Mela is an annual event, one of the largest camel festivals in the world. The fair has something for everybody; from folk music and dance, traditional handicrafts, cattle-trading, local acrobatics, biggest tribal gathering, activities like hot air ballooning and horse riding to camping in luxurious tents.

Here’s a look at some of the most spectacular images from this year’s Pushkar Mela.
