According to a recent statement released by the state’s Health Minister B Sriramulu, there will no longer by mandatory institution quarantine for those coming in from Maharashtra. Instead, they will need to follow a strict home quarantine for 14 days during which their houses will be sealed.

But in the event that an incoming passenger shows symptoms on arrival, they will be tested immediately. For those practising home quarantine, the local and municipality organisations will provide daily food kits to the sealed houses.

Business travellers entering the state too can heave a sigh of relief as the rules have been relaxed, and they have been exempted from COVID-19 tests and quarantine, assuming they are staying for less than 48 hours. But at the same time, they will have to comply with other mandatory measures like wearing masks, using hand sanitizers, and practising social distancing.

For business travellers who are visiting the state for more than 48 hours and within seven days, will need to undertake a COVID-19 test on arrival and will be allowed entry on negative test results. Additionally, these passengers can show a test not taken more than two days prior to arrival as well.

For those travelling from Karnataka to other states and returning with four days, it is not necessary to undergo the tests or quarantine. They will, however, be expected to report their health status on the state’s dedicated COVID-19 helpline ‘Apthamitra.’
