Old soul trapped in a millennial body, born in the wrong era, miss the 80s/90s — the frustrated, lonely, broke Gen Z could often be heard whining about the daily struggles of a life taken over by technology; something that has made living both easy as well as stressful. The youth of today is outspoken, fearless, independent, risk taker and prefers to live on the edge rather than go for stability and comfort. However, the 20 and 30 somethings stuck in today’s complicated lifestyle wanting to go back to much simpler times are facing the brunt of drastic changes from writing on chalkboards to swiping on smartphones, from scrolling through limited TV channels to binge watching Netflix. Always looking for a change, for something new and adventurous, millennials are constantly hopping from job to job, location to location, and one relationship to another.

This perilous lifestyle has therefore resulted in making youngsters more stressful than ever before. The busy millennials are depressed, lack friends, are going through breakups, struggling both financially as well as emotionally and have major FOMO. Burnt out by the end of the day with no energy left for personal wellbeing, many are intoxicating themselves on a regular basis and surviving on unhealthy take outs.

To help millennials ease up on their stress levels; wellness retreats across the country are coming up with new ways to help the exhausted generation relax and detox.

Nutrient Infused Spa Cuisine

Spas today are no more confined only to a massage, but they also offer specific nutritious cuisines based on one’s health needs. There are many nutrition programmes available at spas these days that provide a custom dietary plan as per an individual’s requirements. The junk binging youngsters can go for this healthy option and replace that menu card with a diet chart.

Gadget-Free Getaways

Also known as digital detox retreats, they help you take a break from technology and relax in a world without gadgets. Many fitness resorts across the nation provide this therapy where they take away your phones or other similar devices and let you detox from the world of technology. Switching off from the digital world lowers cortisol i.e. the stress hormone and help you focus completely on your health without any distractions.

Zen And Adrenaline Cocktail Wellness

Travelling for wellness is not a new concept. But today it’s not just limited to enjoying the scenic beauty or the calm of the hills. Thrill is a new way of relaxation for millennials where they find calm in the adrenaline rush from an adventure sport. Be it sky diving, bungee jumping, paragliding, etc. the good stress from the scary experience transforms one’s outlook and replaces the otherwise stressful thoughts. The process of returning to normal at the end of the adrenaline rush has a powerful effect on mind and body.

Holistic Healing

Millennials today are going more holistic in terms of healthcare. They are ditching the western medicines and adopting a more natural approach to healthcare. As a result, various spa and wellness resorts across the globe are offering an overall transformation of mind, body and soul combined with a scientific method in order to understand the illness and act according to an individual’s body instead of the old method of prescribing heavy medicines.
