We had to kindly ask about 150 seals sunbathing across our path to please make way for our metal human-bearing capsule. They weren’t too chuffed, but they begrudgingly obliged. #capefurseal #namaquanationalpark #roadtrip #westcoast #southafrica #outdoors #explore #wildlife #seal-colony

Today’s #TBTT (Throwback Travel Thursday) takes us to the continent of Africa and an area that covers land in both Namibia and South Africa, Namaqualand. The area is part of a desert ecoregion called “The Succulent Karoo,” and is a biodiversity hotspot for succulent flora. Almost 4,000 different species of plant seeds lie in wait and every year between July and October brings a different selection of flowers. The beautiful flowers that dot the land for a few months each year bring in thousands of visitors from around the globe. #Namaqualand #SouthAfrica #Namibia #FlowerPower #Africa #SucculentKaroo 📷Henner Frankenfeld/Redux
