While international travel from India is still on a rough ground, other than flights under the travel bubble agreement and Vande Bharat Mission, IndiGo’s recent decision to resume its Mumbai to Maldives flights from October 15, comes as a piece of #SomeGoodNews.

As of now, the airline is operating two flights a week on every Thursday and Sunday, and plans to later increase the frequency if the demand picks up. The flights take off from Mumbai at 10:25 am, and land in Maldives‘ capital Malé at 1:10 pm. Whereas, the return flights depart from Malé at 2:20 pm, and arrive in Mumbai at 6:10 pm. For most of the days in October, the return tickets range around INR 25,000.

So, if you are planning a visit to the Maldives, this is a feasible option for you. However, there are some rules that you’ll have to follow, which include, carrying a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72 hours of the departure, along with documents to prove a confirmed stay booking, in order to get entry clearance. However, if you want you can also change resorts during their stay.

Furthermore, coming December, Maldives has also planned to start offering reward loyalty points to repeat visitors, thereby becoming the first country in the world to do so. Now that’s some futuristic move to promote tourism!
