Now it’s possible to reach the Elephanta Caves from Mumbai in less than 15 minutes, thanks to this 8-km long ropeway. Only you got to wait till 2022. By Japleen Kaur

The central government has sanctioned a project to make a 8 km long ropeway connecting Mumbai to Elephanta Caves. And it’ll take just 14 minutes to reach from one end to the other. Brilliant, right?

What’s even more interesting is the fact that this ropeway will be the first for our country to be constructed across the ocean. The project will be completed by 2022 by the Mumbai Port Trust and there’ll be around 30 cable cars that’ll resume service then.

Guess which location is going to see an increase in tourism? That’s right: the famous Elephanta Caves.
