Amid the worldwide lockdown and a ban on all non-essential services across the world, the theatre had cancelled all previously scheduled tours and performances from March 27 to April 10, 2020. The historic ballet and opera house had first opened its doors for the public in 1825, it has since been counted among the greatest of Russia’s cultural treasures.
