Mahindra Logistics’ Alyte has recently announced emergency cab services in various cities across the country, including, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, DelhiPune, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. “Extending our support of providing free emergency cab services in different cities now. “Alyte, an enterprise mobility business of Mahindra Logistics, has started free emergency cab services to support people across different cities who require transportation to fulfil some essential everyday needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Alyte will provide these services through a dedicated fleet, including electric vehicles. These services are focused on single mothers, differently-abled individuals, senior citizens, etc. who are unable to secure transport for essential services like shopping essentials and medication, visits to banks, post offices and periodic medical visits. We will also provide these services to doctors, nurses, and others involved in providing essential services. All our vehicles are regularly disinfected, and our drivers’ health is monitored regularly as well, thereby ensuring our customers have a safe, secure and stress-free ride,” the company said in a statement on its official website.

While in Kolkata, a dedicated fleet provided by Alyte will work 24/7 in close collaboration with Bidhannagar Commissionerate, within Kolkata, Howrah and Hooghly, in Chennai it will operate in collaboration with the Greater Chennai Corporation. Moreover, in Hyderabad, the service will operate in close collaboration with Rachakonda Commissionaire.  

“MLLs ALYTE launches free emergency cab services in Hyderabad today, to be extended to other cities. A dedicated fleet will transport individuals who are unable to avail transport for essential services during this pandemic,” Mahindra Logistics Limited said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the service will operate 24×7 in close collaboration with Commissioner of Police (North and West Zones) within the city limits. “Free emergency cab services launched in Mumbai today. Thank you @MumbaiPolice! Together we #Rise 7 cities in 7 days! Free services also available in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin and Pune. @MahindraRise,” the company said.

The same service was launched earlier in Delhi as well in collaboration with the Dwarka District Police. “Dwarka District Police has partnered with Mahindra Logistics (Alyte) to launch FREE CAB SERVICE for Senior Citizens & Women in Need of Support in Dwarka Subcity. The service may be used in case of any medical or other emergencies/ for genuine essential services. Cabs will ply from 8 AM to 8 PM & one cab will be available at night on helpline 9773527222. Request public to use this responsibly,” DCP/Dwarka, Delhi had tweeted.

Furthermore, while launching the same service in Thiruvananthapuram, the company tweeted, Free emergency cab services launched in Trivandrum today.
