Louis Vuitton (LV) is all set to bring eating and shopping under one roof, thanks to their upcoming café and restaurant — Le Café V in Osaka, Japan. By Bayar Jain
If you’re the one to work up an appetite while shopping, then French fashion house Louis Vuitton seems to have heard of your dilemma. On February 1, 2020, Louis Vuitton’s first café and restaurant, named Le Café V, will open in its new, 4-floor Osaka store.
Located on the top floor of the Osaka Maison, this new eatery will feature a menu designed by acclaimed Japanese chef Yosuke Suga. According to reports, the space will include an adjoining bar and a terrace. Moreover, further heightening their motto of exclusivity will be Sugalabo V, wherein a lucky few will be served dinner via an open kitchen mirroring the Tokyo branch of Sugalabo.
Keeping the undertone of high-end fashion consistent, Le Café V has also roped in Tokujin Yoshioka – the designer of brand’s Objets Nomades’ home and travel objects – to create a charger plate. This charging plate is reportedly going to be inspired by LV’s famous monogram, which has inspired the restaurant’s tableware as well. Moreover, the restaurant’s building itself has been designed by architect Jun Aoki – the brains behind many LV boutiques around the world, including the iconic New York Fifth Avenue Maison.

This news follows several moves in the same vein by Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton SE (LVMH, the owner of Louis Vuitton), which is preparing to reopen the Dior flagship on Paris’ Avenue Montaigne — currently undergoing renovations — with a restaurant. Additionally, they also announced the opening of its European Blue Box Café in Harrods for Tiffany & Co., another one of LVMH’s newly acquired brands.
Although the new Maison will be open to public from the first day of February itself, the restaurant will not be functional until February 15.
