American singer and songwriter Khalid will soon be performing in India, as part of his ‘Khalid Free Spirit World Tour’. By Tanvi Jain
International pop singer Khalid Donnel Robinson is coming to India this year as part of the ‘Khalid Free Spirit World Tour’. The singer will be performing at Jio Garden in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex on April 12, and later in Bengaluru’s Ozone Urbana on April 14.
The singer had shared this information last year on December 3, via a Twitter post mentioning all the dates along with the respective cities he will be performing in. This announcement was made immediately after the success of his album Up All Night.
“This is going to be my first time in India wowowow thank u guys!!!!” Khalid had tweeted on December 3, 2019.
The singer, who made his commercial debut just four years ago, soon became a chart-topping, platinum-certified artist with multiple Grammy nominations, within just over a year. And his song Young Dumb And Broke deserves credit for that.
Khalid’s debut album was called American Teen, after which he released his second LP Free Spirit. His song, Talk, won a Grammy 2020 award for the Record of the Year.
Khalid’s skyrocketing career within such a short time span has bagged him many awards. Last year, not only was he named as the artist with highest entries in the Hot R&B Billboard chart, but also won multiple awards for Best Album – Soul/R&B, Best Pop/Rock Male Artist, Best Song – Soul/R&B and Best Male Artist – Soul/R&B, at the American Music Awards.
