Good news travellers! Now, journeying through the snow-capped peaks and picturesque scenery of Shimla is going to be much more than just a train ride! Yes, glass-ceiling trains are soon going to be at your disposal. By Priyanka Chakrabarti

Guess what! Himachal tourism has recently introduced the Vistadome coaches for Kalka-Shimla railway route. Excited? We bet! So, just in a couple of days, you can take in all the beauty of the mesmerising landscape of Jammu and Kashmir through glass-roof ceilings inside the train.

This train will have a 40-seater coach that promises to give passengers a magical experience of a lifetime. Along with glass-roofs, the Kalka to Shimla route will have rotatable 360-degree seats to offer panoramic views of the hills, automatic sliding doors, luggage racks, LED screens and a GPS-enabled information system. And, the cherry on the cake is that – IRCTC has ordered 60 such trains!

After a successful trial run on December 1, the Vistadome coach between Kalka-Shimla rail route is all geared up to put you in a sweet trance, especially during snowfall and rainfall.
