Before Planning Your Travel

  1. Submit self-declaration form, at least three days before the scheduled travel.
  2. Give an undertaking on the website mentioning that you’ll go for a 14-day mandatory quarantine including seven days of paid institutional and seven days of home quarantine.
  3. However, you’ll be allowed 14 days of home quarantine only in an emergency situation, such as pregnancy, death of kin, serious illness, or in case you have a child below 10 years of age. However, for this, you’ll have to first apply on the above-mentioned portal, at least three days prior to the boarding, and the government will accordingly take the final decision and convey on the portal itself.
  4. Moreover, upon arrival, if you want to be exempted from institutional quarantine, you’ll have to submit a negative RT-PCR test report conducted at least four days prior to the departure, which could also be produced at entry airport in India. The report will have to be uploaded on the website and you’ll have to submit a declaration with respect to the authenticity of the report. In case found otherwise, you might be liable for criminal proceedings.

On Arrival

  1. Maintain social distancing while deboarding.
  2. Undergo thermal screening and present the self-declaration form to the concerned authorities.
  3. Anyone found symptomatic during screening shall immediately be isolated or taken under the medical facility, as per health protocols.
  4. Those exempted from institutional quarantine post thermal screening will have to present the decision indicated on the portal to the respective state Counters for permission of 14-day home quarantine.
  5. Those who haven’t, will be taken to institutional quarantine arranged by the respective states and union territories. The period as mentioned earlier will be of minimum seven days, during which you’ll be tested as per the ICMR protocol, and in case tested positive, will be assessed clinically. However, if found asymptomatic or presymptomatic, you’ll be allowed home quarantine, but those with mild, moderate or severe symptoms will be admitted to COVID-19 care facilities. Even if you are tested negative, you’ll still have to remain under seven days of home quarantine and self-monitor your health.

However, every state has the right to come up with its own quarantine and isolation protocols, upon assessment post the arrival of the passengers.
