Accor Group’s ibis India steps up in the fight against COVID-19 by providing rooms, meals, masks and sanitizers to frontliners and others in need. By Tanvi Jain

The Indian team of Accor Group’s ibis hotel habeen working with government officials and medical teams to make its rooms and services available to healthcare professionals, people returning from abroad who are required to go into quarantineetc. It has also been providing food and medical supplies to on-duty cops and others in need.  

Sylvain Laroche, Director of Operations, ibis and ibis Styles India said, “As a hospitality brand that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of its guests and employees, we are doing everything we can to support those who need us. The hotels are responding effectively to the requests from state governments and it makes me very proud to see the team volunteer for this while maintaining strict safety and hygiene standards.”

The group has also elevated the cleanliness and hygiene norms by launching the ALLSAFE Cleanliness & Prevention Label which represents some of the most stringent cleaning standards and operational protocols in the world of hospitality. ibis Jaipur Civil Lines, ibis Chennai City Centre and ibis Mumbai Airport are some of the hotels whose teams are working with the state governments to provide accommodation to the healthcare professionals. 

While ibis New Delhi Aerocity and ibis Bengaluru City Centre are providing quarantine facilities to people returning from abroad or other cities, ibis Navi Mumbai is extending support to the nearby hospitals.

Moreover, teams at ibis New Delhi Aerocity, ibis Nashik, ibis Coimbatore City Centre, ibis Gurgaon Golf Course Road and ibis Pune Hinjewadi are preparing meals and distributing among the homeless and needy in the neighbouring areas. They are also distributing food, sanitizers, masks and gloves, to the traffic police and cops stationed near the hotel. 

Furthermore, the engineering team at ibis Pune Hinjewadi has developed an automated sanitizer dispenser that has been placed in the hotel’s lobby for the convenience of the guests and staff.
