You could, too, submerge yourself in a hot spring full of vegetables during the Lunar New Year. By Gayatri Moodliar

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who eat hotpots, and those who eat while submerged in a hotpot. A human hotpot, you could say. If you’d like to be a part of the latter, Hangzhou’s First World Hotel may be just the place. In order to celebrate the Lunar New Year, which begins in the first week of February, the property is utilising one of its hot spring pools to attract all health-conscious visitors to its pool that’s filled with the produce that go in a hotpot, so think limes, chillies, and even apples. Oh, and they can feast on the snacks while inside, too. (Snacks that are separately provided, not the ones in the stew.)

Shaped like a copper pot, the spring has nine different compartments for various ingredients, to be in sync with the constituents of a hotpot, which is essentially a spicy broth filled with vegetables and meat.

So, if you’re in Hangzhou, China, to celebrate the Lunar New Year, and are interested in being ‘in a soup,’ may we recommend this one that also serves food?
