ITC’s Fortune Hotels launches a 10-step safety and hygiene programme from pre-arrival to checkout for a secure welcome of its guests post COVID-19. By Tanvi Jain

Fortune Hotels has launched the ‘Safe Stays At Fortune Hotels’ programme, to enhance safety and hygiene standards, for guests and associates, starting from pre-arrival till the check-out.  

The hotel chain has partnered with TQS Global Management System  Food Safety and Research Firm — to acquire CORE 19 (COVID Secure) Safe Practices Protocol, meeting ISO Standards, for all its properties across India, which as a part of this programme will undergo phase-wise implementation, training and certification exercise over the next few months.  

“This hygiene programme and certification is an important step towards re-defining our spaces and experiences thereby creating a safe, hygienic and stress-free environment for our guests,” said Samir MC, Managing Director, Fortune Park Hotels Ltd.

Under the programme, the hotel chain will ensure deep cleaned and sanitised rooms, safe public spaces, social distancing for hospitality, F&B hygiene and safe handling procedures, safe meeting spaces, hygiene check stations, trained and sensitised staff members, hygiene code of conduct, emergency response protocol and no-contact payments and bill settlements.   

The programme will cover all the departments and sub-departments of hotels including the heart-of the-house and the guest-facing areas, creating robust safety and hygiene processes and practices across all its properties.

The process shall include implementation and certification towards COVID safety protocols and certification of Quality Management Systems (QMS)The entire programme will make sure the hotels follow QMS Principles, Occupational Health and Safety Analysis Systems (OHSAS) guidelines, ‘Safe Stays At Fortune Hotels’ protocol, and guidelines from bodies such as Ministry of Tourism, FSSAI, Codex, WHO, FAO and CDC. 

Fortune Hotels has always come forward to contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Last month its property in Lucknow had distributed over 1,000 meals per day to the needyThe entire ITC group has been on its feet to continuously offer food and other possible help to the frontliners during the pandemic.
