Accor Group’s Fairmont Jaipur joins the fight against COVID-19 by distributing medical equipment and food to hospitals, local police and nearby rural areas. By Tanvi Jain

Accor Group’s Hotel Fairmont Jaipur has engaged in a series of initiatives to directly help the frontliners and those worst affected by the outbreak of novel coronavirus. The hotel’s team has donated medical equipment like shower caps, pillow covers and bedsheets to Sawai Mansingh Medical College and Hospital. It has also distributed sanitizers, gloves, liquid soap, mineral water bottles to the ACP Traffic Police, Chandpole Police Line and SHO Amer.

“While our palace awaits your return, our teams have been serving the community. We’re proud to have distributed packages of daily groceries to those who need them the most. Because at Fairmont Jaipur, we care,” Fairmont Jaipur posted on its official Twitter and Instagram handles. 

Moreover, ration bags including staples such as pulses, salt, spices and oil were also assembled and handed over by the hotel’s team, to the Sarpanch of Kukas village for 50 families living in the nearby rural area. It even distributed food packets at the next-door construction site labour camp.

Furthermore, in New Delhi, Pullman and Novotel Aerocity, in association with Bal Vikas Dhara, Arogya Health centre, distributed groceries to the people staying at Mahipalpur slum area, and food packets to the nearby police stations, check-posts and sanitation workers. Earlier, the two, along with NGO Earth Saviours Foundation, had also provided food to 300 destitute people. 

Meanwhile, Novotel Kolkata — Hotel and Residences, has been donating food to an orphanage every alternate day with assistance from the CII, to help them during the pandemic. Similarly, ibis Pune Hinjewadi Hotel has come forward to distribute gloves, sanitizers and food to cops who are working in full capacity during the pandemic.

The Accor Group recently introduced a series of initiatives to help in the fight against COVID-19The hotel’s properties across India launched home delivery services via Zomato and Swiggy. Sofitel Mumbai BKC, together with the owning company Shree Naman Group, donated 4.5 tonnes of sanitizers through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and local government agencies, with the help of the police. Moreover, the group also introduced ‘All Heartist Fund’ to help employees in financial disarray and individual partners with liquidity issue, as well as stakeholders supporting local communities in the current crisis.

Accor India also recently initiated the Accor Employee Wellbeing and Assistance Programme to help its employees remain calm under pressure, deal with difficulties and better resolve personal and professional issues.
