A myriad delicious flavours define chef, TV host and author Brar’s life. He’s always on his feet, sometimes travelling to three cities in a day, all the time cooking delicacies from around the world. And when he’s got an afternoon off, he likes nothing better than to whip up a meal for his family and friends!

“I landed in Delhi after travelling for over a week. Fatigued, I got into a meeting and then made my way to ESPA at The Leela Palace New Delhi—the perfect subject for an experience at the spa.

And the spa decided to pamper me to the core with the Essence of Leela experience. Relieved that I finally had the opportunity to take a break from my travel-filled schedule, I decided to put my phone away for the duration of the treatment. And boy, was I glad!

I walked into the treatment room to find that it was all set for my therapy. A refreshing fragrance filled the room and the dim lights and candlelight cast a soothing glow in the room. The experience began with a dry brushing and exfoliation that really stood out for me. For me, a day at the spa usually means spending time in the sauna, or hitting up the steam room and that’s how I let my skin breathe. I’m not much of an exfoliation person, but I realised that with all the pollution and dirt I subject my skin to, I need
to take care of it. And the exfoliation reminded me that I had to do this more often!

My back really suffers when I travel, especially because I’m sitting for extended periods of time in long-haul flights. So, I asked the therapist to focus on my lower back and shoulders during the marma points massage. And this is when I saw a palpable change in my posture and my back started feeling less stiff. The facial and head massage that followed allowed my body and mind to steep in and enjoy the immense sense of relaxation the exfoliation and massage had brought on.

The spa journey was professional and bespoke at the same time—it was customised to my needs, yet it wasn’t intrusive. It gave me a sense of rejuvenation and revival in the true sense of the word.”

How was your experience?

It was great—a perfect combination of personalised care and professionalism, and
I came out feeling absolutely refreshed!
