For all the bookworms itching to renew their shelves with fresh reads, this one is for you. Delhi’s Full Circle Bookstore is delivering books amid the lockdown. By Upasana Singh
The feeling of walking through aisles of stacked books, scanning through shelves, turning over the pages of a book, and looking for the perfect read has certainly left us reminiscing about the past. As books were classified as non-essential items during the lockdown in India, their publication and sales indefinitely came to a halt. However, with restrictions easing in the capital, Full Circle Bookstore is now open and has started delivering books to customers.

If you have finished reading all your novels, coffee table books, biographies, anthologies, and are having a hard time passing the days amidst the Coronavirus lockdown, this piece of news is meant just for you. Nestled in the heart of Greater Kailash-1, Full Circle Bookstore is a paradise for the city’s book lovers. With a collection of titles, ranging from historical fiction, contemporary literature, comedy, and romance to self-help, health, and philosophy, this book store has something for everyone.
With branches all over Delhi including Khan Market and Jor Bagh, as reported by Hindustan Times, Priyanka Malhotra, director, Full Circle Bookstore said, “We are opening on alternate days for now. The response has been phenomenal and we have received orders from within and outside Delhi.” Since its reopening on May 5, the Greater Kailash store has sold approximately 450 books via deliveries and in-store purchases.
However, to dismay all your worries, the store is taking strict precautions to assure all its customers of a safe and healthy environment. The director stated that every Full Circle bookstore is mindful of safety measures. The stores are sanitised five times a day and only a limited number of customers are allowed to enter at a given time. Precautions such as sanitising hands and checking temperatures before entering the premises have been put in place. Moreover, it is mandatory for everyone to wear a mask.
