A three-month-long road trip across India started last year in a bright orange caravan, and well that was just the start of a journey filled with adventures, memories and more. Caravan Chronicles is back with season 2 of their expedition and we cannot wait to hear the details! By Japleen Kaur

Soooo after 4 long months of working our butts off we finally kick off the Season 2 of @thecaravanchronicles sooooon!! We can't waittttt to start this epic adventure with @monkey.inc and @trulynomadly. These girls have been living and breathing this project for the past two months. Since the van was in Bangalore and Ankita was too, it just made sense for Sharanya to come down from Bombay. Right from running after the tailor to get curtains stitched to devising complex content plans, it's been a hell of a ride!! This is what they had to say about this – A lot of people have asked us if we are ready to take on traveling together in a van considering we are both girls and do exactly the same thing – travel and create content. For us this question seemed a bit absurd because this is exactly why this partnership makes so much sense! It's our absolute passion to travel and we live for content creation so it's perfect!! Apparently this comfort we share with each other was absurd to people as, as girls it is assumed we will be competitive or bitchy towards each other. Yes there have been disagreements between us but more often than not we are exactly on the same page! Right from how we view Caravan Chronicles to the kind of content we want to create to the kind of partnerships we want to build to the kind of people we want to associate with – it's been a crazy synergy. So when we partnered with @jockeywoman the click was immediate. Jockey woman is comfortable in her own skin and ready to take on the world, which is exactly who we are! Super comfortable with ourselves and each other and I'm sure this energy we share is going to come out in the content as well! . . . . . #knowsme #jockeywoman #season2baby #caravanchronicles #vanlife #vanlifediaries #vanlifeindia #caravanningindia #vanlifestyle #vanlifemovement #borntoroam
Ankita Kumar and Sharanya Iyer have decided to embark on yet another caravan trip, and this time they’ll be traversing the gorgeous routes of Sikkim in North East India. Both the girls are full-time travellers, doing what millions of us want to do. Based out of Bangalore currently, you’ll hardly ever see them in the city.

What some beautiful mornings look like! The van door spread wide open, hot tea and snowy mountains for a view. 😍 This is the Tsomgo lake in East Sikkim. To be honest, we were more enthralled by the lakes right before it. This was one of the most touristy spots we've been to on this trip. The lake is swarming with loud tourists, people selling you stuff, bored yaks standing around waiting for some equally bored tourist to ride them. Overall not a spot I'd recommend. But the way to it is spectacular!! It still has snow in parts and trust me Luna looked absolutely stunning against the dewy snow. Shout out to our Caravan Partners @trippywheels for letting us paint her in bright colors and do up the interiors with dream catchers and trippy blankets to match our vibes. 💛 For all you caravan lovers, check them out if you want to rent a caravan and have a lil adventure of your own. 😊 . . 📸: @cpproductions17 . . #knowsme #caravanningindia #caravanchronicles #sikkim #sikkim_diaries #sikkimtravel #sikkimdiaries #sikkimtourism #lifeontheroad #noplanisthebestplan #letsgosomewhere #vanlifestyle #khg #vanlifeideas #vanlife #vangirls #vanlifediaries #vanlifemovement #vanlifedreams #vanlifeexplores #vanlifediaries #vanlifeproject #adventureladies #dametraveller #camperlife #homeonwheels #homeiswhereyouparkit
Talking to Ankita Kumar, we asked her how did this whole concept come into being. “I was handling social media for Rohit Subramanian who is also a full-time traveller and was in Europe at that time. Since he didn’t have internet to upload images on time, he would send them to me. At that time, I was in South America on my backpacking trip. He randomly called me one day saying — “Anki do you want to travel across India on a caravan?” And, I said, let’s do it.”

Ahhh! What a craaaazy couple of days we've had!! A massive flat in the middle of a forest, coolant leaking from the radiator, getting devoured by leeches! Caravan life will be fun they said. 😅 Sorry for being AWOL for the last couple of days. Been in dodgy network zone and there's clearly been a lot going on! Buttt its finally update time! Our baby Luna is on a break. She's gone to the doctor's at Siliguri to get fixed while we have continued on our trip to the remotest parts of Sikkim with the cutttiiiieeee patoootieeeee @itisinthename who joined us two days ago. She's an absolute bundle of sunshine in our otherwise slightly glum days. 💛 So yeah we've grown from two badass women to three for a few days! This trip is all about girl power and that's why the gorgeous graffiti you see on the van. A beautiful, wild, free woman in all her glory. 😍 @jockeywoman thank you for all the support you've shown us through this mad mad journey. Wish us all the luck and good vibes so baby Luna gets better and we can resume our adventures with her. 💪💛 . . 📸: Crumpled Paper productions : @cpproductions17 @bhaskar_maina07 . . #knowsme #caravanningindia #caravanchronicles #sikkim #sikkim_diaries #sikkimtravel #sikkimdiaries #sikkimtourism #lifeontheroad #noplanisthebestplan #letsgosomewhere #vanlifestyle #khg #vanlifeideas #vanlife #vangirls #vanlifediaries #vanlifemovement #vanlifedreams #vanlifeexplores #vanlifediaries #vanlifeproject #adventureladies #dametraveller #camperlife #homeonwheels #homeiswhereyouparkit
That’s how the Caravan Chronicles was born, and it was Rohit who gave the name, too. He’s in South America for the next two years; so, this trip will be done without him. Nonetheless, he is the backbone of the whole concept, and no decision is made without his inputs.
How and when did Sharanya join the bandwagon?
“Last time, she joined us for the Kutch leg, and that turned out to be the toughest. So, she experienced the hardest part, and we bonded really well. This time, when I asked her if she would be up to joining me on this crazy trip, she immediately said yes.”

Morning rituals with baby Luna! Sooo it's taken us a while to set up her interiors! The first time we did it, we had to take down a lot of our stuff right after because we were sending her to Siliguri to get fixed. But we finally did some Sunday cleaning and ran a broom and mop through her furthest corners to get her to her spanking clean self 😁 The rains in Sikkim haven't really helped much. Muddy shoes, slushy footprints, damp bedcovers…eeeep, it continues to be a total OCD nightmare! And here you thought we were having it all good with the van life! While we definitely are having the time of our lives on this special adventure, there's also a tonne of regular homely chores to be done everyday, like stocking up on groceries, hardware stuff (Duct tape, sooo much duct tape!), taking turns to charge up our devices, segregating storage space, collecting the trash…it's been so fulfilling to do her up and make her our home 💛 📸 @bhaskar_maina07 . . Love my comfy @jockeyindia pajamas, they're warm and cozy and I can't wait to keep adding to collection! 😍 . . . @jockeywoman #knowsme #home #sikkim #sikkimtourism #indiapictures #roamnation #exploretocreate #livetravelchannel #roamtheplanet #travelgirl #livetoexplore #neverstopexploring #hippybus #lifeontheroad #roadtrippin #vanlife #caravanning #caravanlife #nakedplanet #ig_color #createcommune #timeoutsociety #cntraveler #simplyadventures #backpacking #adventureladies #takemoreadventures #getoutthere #lifeontheroad
Sharanya runs a travel blog called Truly Nomadly about all her budget trips, and we’re sure that the blog post on this road trip is going to be insane.
As opposed to season 1 where they covered a big part of the country, this season they want to take it slow. Hence they chose Sikkim because of its brilliant roads, vast landscapes, vibrant culture, fantastic food and the music.
And, not only are we going to see their journey via social media, they are also going to be shooting a web series on the reality of a caravan life.
After the success of the previous season, they have Jockey Woman on board as their sponsors, rooting for the two women for doing this kickass trip. They have rented their caravan from Trippy Wheels and have painted it blue with beautiful floral stickers.
Way to go, ladies!
