One of the best theme-based gastro pubs in Delhi, the Darzi Bar & Kitchen in Connaught Place is the place to go for engineered fusion food and tailor-made cocktails. By Shikha Pushpan

The Darzi Bar & Kitchen, located in the less-crowded H-Block, close to the PVR Plaza, is designed like a tailor’s studio. From the ‘trial room’ that welcomes you at the entrance to Master Ji’s All Day Nashta on the menu, the place lives up to its theme. Launched earlier this year by Shipra Khanna of the MasterChef India fame, the restaurant serves curated North Indian and European cuisines.

Go For: Karaoke nights and live gigs by popular music bands.

Walk up the dimly-lit stairs, past a giant pair of scissors, to reach the restaurant. The upholstered sofas and cassette tape-inspired table tops lend a vintage vibe to the place, but it is the open bar that steals the spotlight. Spread over two floors, the restaurant has an outdoor seating area where we can already imagine you sitting for a hot dinner this winter.

P.S. Set social media goals with photographs from the cigar room.

Begin your meal with ISBT Makhani Maggi and Patthar Kebab, a Hyderabadi lamb delicacy cooked over stones. If you are up for a gourmet experience instead, go all out with an Amritsari thali with kulcha, pindi channa, chutney, pickles, onion and lots of butter, served with masala chai. The restaurant also offers an interesting mix of curry naan pizzas such as Mushroom Rogan Josh and Malai Chicken served with house curry sauce.

Make sure you save some space for the star of the menu, Achari Gosht—lamb curry tempered with pickle and served with lachha parantha and complement your food with tailor-made cocktails like Darzitini and Jadugar. Complete your meal with their signature Darzi Ki Gullak, an interactive dessert where chefs paint the delicacy on your table.

Upcoming: Fusion band Hari & Sukhmani perform live on October 14
