Keeping up with the ‘Responsible Luxury’ ethos, ITC Hotels‘ newest launch—second in Hyderabad—draws inspiration from its namesake, the Kohinoor diamond. The structure of ITC Kohenur in itself is angular to represent the famed diamond, and the patterns of the precious jewel also appear through the hotel. You are greeted by an installation of over 2,000 bangles that pay an homage to the famous Choodi bazaars of Hyderabad, at check-in. The lobby borrows heavily from the local crafts of bidri (a 14th century metal handicraft) and zardozi (Persian form of embroidery and pearls), laid out against a magnificent backdrop of white marble.
The rooms are designed to represent the different colours of gemstone. From sapphire, emerald, turquoise, amber, and amethysts each colour is associated with a room category. The Presidential Suite features an attractive blue marble and is complete with a private dining room, attached kitchenette, sitting room, study area, and a private roof-top garden. It even has a separate entry for the private butler. All rooms at ITC Kohenur are equipped with a Sleep Box that contains essential oils, ear plugs, and calming music to enhance your sleep quality. For a sound sleep, you can even choose the kind of pillow you are most comfortable with from the Pillow Menu.
There are five dining options you can choose from. Dum Pukht Begum’s showcasing the cuisine of the Nizams of Hyderabad, ITC’s signature pan-Italian brand Ottimo–Cucina Italiana, Yi Jing with its Chinese fares, panoramic views of the city stretching till the Golconda Fort at the rooftop bar called Sky Point, and regional flavours at Golconda Pavillion await you at ITC Kohenur.
ITC Kohenur is the first hotel to make use of chips that aim to minimize the radiation emitted from the various electronic devices. Right from WiFi routers to television sets, all equipment in the hotel are fitted with these chips so the harmful effects of radiation from these devices do not hamper the quality of life of the guests. Akin to all the ITC luxury hotels in the country, ITC Kohenur too integrates renewable energies to reduce overall energy consumption. It houses a 100 per cent LED light system and vertical gardens with living roof. This luxury business hotel is expected to be a game-changer.
