As India enters the fourth phase of the ongoing lockdown from May 18 to May 31, the Government further eases relaxations, to bring the economy back on track. Major restrictions lifted include allowing movement of inter and intrastate public vehicles, and reopening of all the shops with staggered timings, except for those in malls and containment zonesHowever, flights, metros and any kind of public gatherings are still prohibited.

“MHA issues order to further extend #lockdownindia till 31.05.2020, to fight #COVID19. New guidelines have permitted considerable relaxations in #Lockdown4 restrictions. Moreover, the Government has also allowed online delivery of non-essential goods, except in the containment zone. Sports complex and stadiums have also been allowed to open but without any spectators.

Soon after releasing the fresh set of guidelines for Lockdown 4.0, the MHA also clarified that though states and union territories can impose restrictions according to the area, but cannot dilute the ones imposed in MHA guidelines.

“MHA to States: Despite widespread relaxations given in #Lockdown4 restrictions, States/UTs cannot dilute the restrictions imposed in MHA guidelines. States/UTs may prohibit certain other activities or impose restrictions, as deemed necessary,” it added.

Furthermore, necessary safety and hygiene protocols such as wearing masks, using sanitisers and maintaining social distancing need to be followed strictly. It has also allowed states to further delineate green, orange and red zones, but only after considering parametres set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

“States/UTs must take into consideration the benchmarks/thresholds indicated in the revised guidelines issued by @MoHFW_INDIA, while delineating zones based on technical inputs at a local level: MHA,” Spokesperson, Ministry of Home Affairs further tweeted.
