There’s no doubt that the world is going through a difficult time with the pandemic looming large over us. A farmer from Wisconsin has taken it upon himself to bring some much-needed sunshine and joy to the world by planting over two million sunflowers on his farm. The farmer, Scott Thompson, who along with his family has been farming in Kenosha for over a period of seven decades is the man behind this wonderful act.

Usually, Thompson’s farms bear strawberries, raspberries and pumpkins but this time he decided to plant sunflowers instead. Currently, the Thompson Strawberry Farm has more than two million gorgeous sunflowers shining as bright as the sun over an expanse of 22 acres. The farmer and his family thought that this would bring some much-needed happiness to the world that is otherwise enveloped in worries.

The beautiful farm located in Wisconsin, Bristol is now attracting people from all around the country, where families and friends can come and spend a beautiful day enjoying a picnic and taking a stroll in the fields. “As the season went on, the pandemic never went anywhere… and we thought people might be looking for something to do, and what a great way to social distance and… smile, basically,” said Thompson (as reported on Times of India).

And, as a way of coping with social distancing rules, the Thompson family has planted flowers in more than 15 of their fields to ensure there’s more than enough room for all the visitors. The fields also have colourful Mexican sunflowers and Zinnia flowers that attract butterflies.

Even imagining this picturesque farm instils a sense of joy in our hearts!
