The Boeing Business Jet MAX is the world’s most popular business jetliner. Here’s why. By Shikha Pushpan
A private, luxury jet with the viability of a large-body commercial jet—that’s the new Boeing Business Jet Max in a nutshell for you. Designed by Paris-based design firm of Alberto Pinto, the BBJ MAX plane, based on the new 737 MAX airplane family, can seat up to 19 passengers and two crew members. Some of the main feature of the jet include a large entrance hall, a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, shower, vanity and storage cabins, a front lounge, an aft lounge, a central corridor, and a dining area.
The jet follows soft lines and curves with versatile lighting and modern materials such as carbon fibre throughout its body. The custom seats in the lounge area are inspired by egg shells and feature integrated loudspeakers in the headrest. Meanwhile, the convertible sofa in the aft-lounge makes for added sleep comfort of the guests.
Boeing has billed the new BBJ MAX a “game changer” for its ability to fly up to 12,297kms in standard configuration. The improved aerodynamics mean the private jet can undertake long-distance missions, such as Dubai to New York or Sydney to Los Angeles, without any stops.
Business jets are often purchased by world leaders and high-net-worth individuals for both personal and commercial travels. According to reports, Boeing has already sold about 20 BBJ MAX planes, including all three models BBJ MAX 7, BBJ MAX 8, and BBJ MAX 9. But the company has refused to divulge details of the owners.
